It’s been a busy few weeks. After releasing a new update and shifting to a different payment model, we’re ready to give you something even better. We’re proud to announce Write! for Students — a free Write! account for any college or university student who wants it.
After some users inquired about a student discount, we thought we can do one better — giving them Write! for free. This accomplishes two things: get Write! into the hands of more people (always a good thing), and help out students who need a distraction-free productivity-reinforced space for all those late-night writing sessions.
Here’s what you need to get an account:
Go to this page, and scroll down to reach the Create a Student Account section.
We’ll need your email, and a password to create the account. Next, we ask you provide the link to your active Facebook profile, and photos of your Student ID. This is so we can verify that you are, in fact, currently a student at a college or university, and that you are who you say you are.
Upon clicking Sing Up & Download, your info is sent to us, and your download of the Write! installer begins. When you install and launch Write! for the first time, the app will request your login credentials. However, until your account is approved, you won’t be able to log into the app.
Our team will approve your Write! for Students account within the coming 48 hours. Once it’s approved, you are given access to Write! for one year. When that year goes by, you’ll need to resubmit your info to keep using Write!. Here’s what your Account section in the members are will show once you’re approved:
If you’ve got questions about the registration or need to clarify how all this works, feel free to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
